2025 02 19 Ginninderry Circuit with John Edge

This was a medium walk of 7.5Km along some of the Ginninderry Trails with John Edge. All the new tracks in the Ginninderry area have been graded to Aust Grade 3 which provides tracks suitable for most people. However the tracks can have a rough surface and contain short steep sections and that is certainly the case.

In the second half of 2024 I had undertaken three walks between the Link area and the swinging bridges as well a walk across to Shepherds Lookout. The trails have been well laid out in most cases although we noticed that some weeds and various items such as blackberries and kangaroo grass etc had started to impose themselves on the edges of some of the track sections largely over on the northern ends of the track.

We did meet several rangers near the suspension bridges who were cutting several type of nasty grasses and then planned to spray the area to see if they could eradicate the weens in question. Give the large quantities of blackberries at the northern end they had plenty of work to do.

This view shows a great view south towards Shepperds Lookout. Several tracks can be seen.

This one below shows the two suspensions bridges. Both to me .could have been easily replaced by smaller wooden structures

Swinging Bridges

John is shown here slowly climbing up the trail to the Woodland Lookout. Its starting point below is not well marked.
