I did this walk around some of East Belconnen’s easier walking areas with fellow walker Drew McDonald. As it turned out we developed another easy to medium walk that should be suitable for the older guys from Melba Shed. It also was done to fill in time we had available as we could not go to Bywong-Wamboin to walk their Greenways due to the rain that had started much earlier than the weather bureau had predicted. Thus we started in drizzling rain which kept us out of any thick grass sections.

Overall the walk was nice and had a variety of grassy pads to some bitumen and concrete paths as well as dirt foot pads.  There were also some kangaroos on Lyneham Ridge.

Overall we had to use two underpasses to travel from one side of Gungahlin Drive to the other on two occasions. We also had to cross Ginninderra Drive twice, once on a large overhead foot bridge across and once crossing at traffic lights, which was fine with no traffic.

Overall this was an Easy Medium gentle walk of 10Km, taking 3hrs 4 min, including a short coffee and hot chocolate break at U & Co Cafe in Kaleen at the Gwydir Square shops. Note that Kaleen had three shopping centres in total. Gwydir Square is the mostly southerly one.
