I led this walk with 6 of us having met at the Shed by 8AM & then driving in two cars to The Link, Ginninderry. We drove by way of Drake-Brockman Dr then Pro Hart Ave to 1 McClymont Way, Ginninderry.

From the Link we walked around it and over a dam to the Straithnarn Arts Association Building and checked out that Cafe Stepping Stone was there for having coffee after the walk. Unfortunately we ran out of time for coffee later. We then went north over grass and back to a gate that led us down a section of the BNT for a round 400m. Then we turned left through a sign-posted walk where the Shepherds Walking Track officially started & followed it all the way too to where it joined the Old Shepherds Lookout Track from Stockdill Drive.

We then took a track south towards the Molonglo but stopped to view the new Stockdill Main Electricity Sub-station & the Sewerage Works. We then went west along a track to the Shepherds Lookout, one of the best lookout views along the Murrumbidgee River. On the way we walked past the junction where a track goes down to the Molonglo River & East Uriarra Picnic Grounds.

After the usual group pics on the lookout & a short morning break we headed back along the direct track & took the new Shepherds Track back to the cars. On the way we took a left version of the track & stopped to take in views from 4 separate lookout spots. One lookout required a 200m diversion to & from it. We reached the cars around 11.38AM.

The total walk was 8.1Km of which the new walking track was only 6.8km. This was an Easy-Medium walk taking us 3hrs18m.
