I led this walk with 4 of us having met at the Shed. It was planned as a social walk thus we didn’t have a definitive planned route nor a time schedule, except to keep it local and finish well before lunch which we achieved easily.

Just after 8.00AM we headed down to the path along Ginninderra Drive and walked to Latham via Umbagong Park. Initially We walked along the path adjacent to Ginninderra , then turned south crossing bridges over Ginninderra Ck & a path under Ginninderra Drive.

Then we went along the path adjacent to Ginninderra Ck in Latham. Then we took the first bridge across Ginninderra Ck but went instead higher up over grasslands until reaching a bitumen path that took us back down to wooden bridges. It appeared that signs & fencing on the bridges had been ripped off although signs said the bridges were condemned & unsafe.

We did use one bridge before reaching the Steeping Stones which we crossed & then decided to head up east & try out the Latham coffee shop. We reached there OK & had coffee & milk shakes courtesy of Drew. Dumbo Greg had left his wallet at home.

After the break we headed across the Latham playing fields & then along Stretton Cres & then taking a lane to Kingsford Smith Drive. We crossed it & entered Florey alongside Krefft St, then doping down to pick up the cycleway north to the underpass under Ginninderra Drive & then following the previous walks route back to the Shed, reaching there around 10.30AM.

This was an Easy Walk of 6.0Km taking 2hrs 22mins.
