2020 02 19 One Tree Hill with MelbaShed

This was a 9.8 Km walk from Hall in Canberra along part of the Canberra Centennial Trail (CCT) as well as part of the around Hall Trail to reach One Tree Hill with fabulous views over North Canberra and way south to the Mountains. This was Melba Shed walk No 227 on 19th Mar 2020. This was our last walk before such Shed activities were suspended by the national lockdown caused by the Corona (COVID-19) virus

I led this walk with 5 walking.  3 of us met around 8AM at the Shed & drove to Hall and parked at cnr of Victoria and Gladstone Sts where we met two more.

Then from 8.20AM we followed a section of the Hall circular walk to the Icon water tanks then took the CCT to One Tree Hill (876m) & back to the cars by 11.50AM.

Views were great & we could see all Gungahlin, Belconnen, Civic & even Woden towers, across to Tidbinbilla and Brindabella Ranges. We saw several Red Neck Wallabies hiding in the trees near the top of OTH.

We finished back at Daughters of Hall where we had coffee, shakes and sampled Harry’s special lemon cake slice.

The weather was warm and fine and a perfect day for walking.

It was a Medium-Hard walk of 9.8 Km taking 3hrs plus 30m for breaks.
