2017 08 06 Lake Ginninderra
An afternoon winter 8.8Km stroll around my local lake adjacent to Belconnen Town Centre from my local suburb of Florey in Canberra
This was an 8.8km stroll taking several shortcuts making the distance just around the Lake 6.5Km. However I walked from near my place in Florey thus the extra Km. Sticking to the formal bitumen track around the Lake is 7.1km.
Lake Ginninderra is quite picturesque with views of Belconnen Town Centre and its hi-rise buildings, Black Mountain, also views across to the Brindabella Mountains. Its a favourite walking and cycling area for many of Belconnen’s residents and many of the students from the adjacent University of Canberra.
The weather was overcast, with some strong windows and some short showers nearing home. The total trip took around 1 hr 45mins.
